Joe Zabar

Joe joins Mercy Works as Chair of our Board in December 2021, with years of experience to his name. For most of his career, Joe has worked within the government and not-for-profit sectors to improve the lives of vulnerable people both in Australia and overseas.

Joe has held leadership roles across the not-for-profit sector, working with senior government officials, Ministers, Members of Parliament, Senators, and staff in the pursuit of important social and economic policy and legislative reform. He is motivated to use his extensive network and experience to support the work of a number of charities across the nation. With extensive experience in organisational management and change, advocacy, network engagement, policy development and implementation, Joe continues to be a leading voice within the social services sector on social and economic policy with a strong record of negotiating with government to deliver positive changes for the sector and the vulnerable people they serve. Joe’s key strength is his ability to formulate policy solutions to complex problems and develop the appropriate strategies to effect change. We are thrilled to welcome Joe to Mercy Works as Chair of our Board.
