Where We Work

Mercy Works is a not-for-profit charity organisation supporting long term development projects in Australia and the South-East Asia Pacific region, including Papua New Guinea, The Philippines and Timor-Leste. We work with some of the most challenged and vulnerable people and communities towards dignity and self reliance. We transform their future by improving health, enhancing social wellbeing and expanding educational and economical opportunities. In Australia we work with five First Nations projects as well as refugees and asylum seeker students in schools and adult literacy programs.

Statement of Support for First Nations People

In the spirit of reconciliation Mercy Works acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we walk, live and work. We recognise their living culture and their unique role in the life of the areas in which Mercy Works are located. We pay tribute to all of those who have nurtured this country over many thousands of years, deriving spiritual and physical needs from the seas, forests, soil, rivers, lakes and streams, and to Elders past and present. We join our First Nations people in honouring these lands as sacred.
